Dr. Michio Kaku, the bestselling author, futurist and theoretical physicist, agrees with Carl Sagan that in about 100 years our society on Earth will move into an entirely new phase of civilization characterized by a true mastery and interconnectedness of all things earthly. But we’ll only get there if the destructive forces like nuclear obliteration, climate change and terrorism don’t stop us in our tracks (and that’s a big if).
Similar to Stephen Hawking, who said “we are entering an increasingly dangerous period of our history“, it sounds like Dr. Kaku is viewing the next 100 years like the last round in a prize fight between human sustainability and human extinction.
All these prominent scientists are saying we are approaching a win or lose scenario for our species. Which one are you betting on?
